UK Torture Documents

The British government has issued a gag order to suppress evidence of torture in Uzbekistan. The web site of former ambassador Craig Murray has been pulled.

Blairwatch has the full story, but here’s a quick rundown:

There are two documents in particular the British government doesn’t want you to see. The first is a collection of telegrams Murray sent to the Foreign office, outlining the problems (legal, moral, and practical) with torture. One would hope these things wouldn’t have to be explained to elected leaders, but the UK has sunk to the same level of moral depravity the US has.

The second document is a legal opinion from the FO saying torture is hunky dory.
